What shapes my work
I have worked across cultures, industries, large global companies, and entrepreneurial environments. My role has often required me to move between strategist, operator, facilitator, coach, and trusted advisor.
That range shaped how I work today. I bring commercial rigor and direct operating experience, but I am equally interested in how leaders think, relate, make decisions, and respond when the pressure rises.
My approach draws on practical operating experience, current research and applied teaching at Cal Poly in organizational behavior, leadership, and go-to-market strategy, performance psychology, neuroscience, professional coaching, and contemplative wisdom. I have a longstanding focused attention practice and continue to learn from Buddhist psychology, Daoism, and Stoicism. For me, these are not abstract ideas. They are practical ways to step back from noise, see more clearly, and respond rather than react.
I have also been shaped by sport and practice. I competed as a Division I tennis player and trained in martial arts, experiences that deepened my respect for discipline, composure, and performance under pressure.
The common thread is helping leaders make clearer choices, strengthen alignment, and translate intention into action.
Outside work, I am grounded by family, sport, time outdoors, and a longstanding contemplative practice.

I have spent much of my career working at the intersection of business, leadership, and human performance.
Over 35 years across Asia and the United States, I have led growth, market entry, product strategy, and organizational change at Google, Microsoft, Samsung, Nike, and venture-backed businesses. I have worked in environments where the commercial stakes were high, the cultural context was complex, and the answers were rarely straightforward.
Those experiences taught me something I now bring to every engagement: strategy and leadership cannot be separated.

Life has brought me my share of challenges, losing my job, navigating cancer, immigrating across continents, and working in environments that weren’t always inclusive. Through all of this, I learned something essential:
